Making The Band

The purpose of "Making the band" is to try and preserve the heart of Reggae Music which is the band. Our goal is to bring more focus in on the band as a whole, and the players of instruments. With the increase of digital instrumentation, and the decrease in live instrumentation the band faces destinction. We are here to keep Reggae alive therefor we are trying to preserve the band through "Making the band" our tribute to the heartbeat of Reggae Music!

altWhen you blend Afrobeat & Roots Reggae the product is a high energy combination of unique and intense musical vibrations, also known as Washington, DC’s own Eme & Heteru!!!

Making The Band

time is not counted from daylight but from Midnite...Hailing from St Croix, Virgin Islands

Lead singer Vaughn Benjamin's electrifying voice seems an amalgamation of many great voices in reggae-soulful, chanting, edgy. Vaughn's potent lyrical style and his brother Ron Benjamin's exquisite production, vocals, dub, arrangements, keyboard/bass musical directorship form the nucleus of this musical - rootsy sound, which includes:
Christian Molina (drums), Edmund Fieulleteau (guitar), Edwin Byron (guitar) and Ras L (keyboards).

While the group works with many more Artists, the songs here featured demonstrate a cross section of the group's versatility, both in the studio, and live. Dub Station has been the glue, or a magnifying glass through which most of the artists featured have launched or intensified their careers (check the Info section on each tune for more song-specific background).
