Having started a buzz on the UK music scene as part of the dancehall collective Suncycle and working with the likes of Twista and Lethal B, Greensleeves Recording artist, Gappy Ranks, is set to release his debut solo album, PUT THE STEREO ON, August 24. The album contains 12 original tracks with production provided by the renowned Peckings Crew.
For PUT THE STERO ON Gappy Ranks set out to pay homage to the foundation that Reggae music built while bringing to the genre a direction he sees as the future of reggae music. The album opens with “Mountain Top,” Gappy’s first track to rise on the UK Reggae charts, followed by “Heaven In Her Eyes,” which remained #1 for 13 weeks on the UK Reggae Charts and introduced him to an international audience.
On the title track and first single, “Put The Stereo On,” Gappy paints a vivid picture of his childhood and the music that influenced him to enter the Reggae scene. He brings the generations together with his rendition of the classic Tenor Saw tune “Pumpkin Belly.”
When recording PUT THE STEREO ON Gappy Ranks was granted access to classic reggae rhythms like the Treasure Isle rhythm featured on “Happiest Day Of My Life." “Thy Shall Love” delivers a powerful sound and uplifting message of loving yourself and others. For the closing track, “Soul Rebel,” Gappy Ranks is accompanied by legendary UK Reggae artist Nereus Joseph.
Born and raised in the inner-city town Harlesden NW10 which is unofficially known as London’s Reggae capital, Gappy Ranks discovered his passion for music at a young age. While attending school, he strengthened his musical skills devoting most of his time to writing. He made his studio debut with the Ruff Cutt band at aged 11 and later joined Stonebridge stars Suncycle Crew. This experience helped him develop his understanding of the music business and the building of his musical repertoire. He has released numerous mix tapes and collaborated with fellow UK artists Kray Twinz, MC Lethal B and US rapper Twista.

Luciano is a cornerstone of contemporary reggae; his singing, writing and unique image have made a worldwide impact and afforded him a successful recording and touring career. His latest studio album; United States of Africa presents an informed outlook on world politics and everyday issues with a strong foundation of reggae. Produced by Frenchie for Maximum Sounds, the album includes vintage ‘riddim’ tracks and strong ballads and a range of one drop productions featuring some of Jamaica’s top musical talents (Sly & Robbie, Dean Fraser, Lenky, Robbie Lynn and Mafia & Fluxy). Plus three songs from top writer Duane Stephenson.
After surveying there career to this point Midnite is described as some fresh blood-good to good! The new album Momentum is there latest. On there trod to California from the East Coast side of America Midnite has been in higher demand. The changes have certainly goosed Midite to create a heavy-hitting, 13-track set on which the group sounds fully engaged and focused, from the opening declaration of the title track "Momentum" to the closing' dedication, "Stay." Most impressively, Midnites new album displays a tempo-shifting aptitude similar to Burning Spear-particularly on longer songs like "Strengthen Fully," "Don't be scared" and "Life is sweet"-and is just as adept delivering gentler and more melodic pieces ("Sustainable Living," "Living One"). The single "Corn an Bread" gallops with authentic Jamaican One Drop."
Never lost my way explains it all. Ginjah is dedicated to good music and been since the start of his musical career. Riding riddim after riddim it's finally here "Never Lost My Way" a sure collectors choice. With his unique soulful voice it's hard to not listen to Ginjah if he's on your listening device. Reggae lovers may have to "Pull up" the tunes a few times. Soulful, Inspiring, Unique, and Mighty are the words I've found right now to describe the brothers music. Music Alone is m personal favorite and I know for many of the viewers it's your favorite also. If you love good music no matter where your from, what style of music you listen to Ginjah represents not just Reggae but good music.
